How to Protect Your Health from 5G Network.

10 minutes read.

The increased use of radiofrequency (RF) fields above 6 GHz, particularly for the 5G mobile phone network, has given rise to public concern about any possible adverse effects on human health. Public exposure to RF fields from 5G and other sources is below the human exposure limits.

The introduction of the fifth generation (5G) of wireless communication using millimeter wave (MMW) will increase the number of high-frequency-powered base stations and other devices

Now mobile phones and other smart wireless devices with 5G networks are out for use in many countries including America and Nigeria.

The big question is, “How can you enjoy the 5G mobile phone’s fast data transmission service without having to put your health in danger for the rest of your life?”

Most of our businesses in this 21st century are fast moving to the use of the internet, as a result, me and I cannot run away from the effect of new technologies.

In the next decade, you may probably run no standard business without the use of the Internet.

It is high time you learn to know exactly what to do always to keep your health protected while you enjoy the new technology.

In this article:

What Is a 5G Network?

Developed in 2019, 5G means 5th Generation cellular network, is associated with the latest version of wireless communications being made available for broad public use, explains Christopher Collins, Ph.D., a professor of radiology at New York University.

When you use your phone to communicate with other devices, cellular data is sent through radio frequencies (RFs). Calls and other functions are connected through a series of base stations called “cells” that cover certain geographic regions, according to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

The radiofrequency 5G uses is higher than the previous iterations of wireless communication, including 4G and 3G, says Henk De Feyter, Ph.D., an assistant professor of radiology and biomedical imaging at Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut.

That’s what sets it apart. But otherwise, he says the technology works the same way, by producing electromagnetic waves for information to be sent and received.

What’s a 5G millimeter wave?

A millimeter wave is an extremely high-frequency band, which is very useful for 5G wireless networks.

Mm, wave uses a 30 GHz to 300 GHz spectrum band for transmission. The frequency band between 30 GHz to 300 GHz is known as mm-Wave because these waves have wavelengths between 1 and 10 mm.

Scientific findings

What have scientific studies found about 5G networks, is it really safe?

About 107 experimental studies (91 in vitro, 15 in vivo, and 1 human) have investigated various bioeffects of the 5G network, including genotoxicity, cell proliferation, gene expression, cell signaling, membrane function, and other effects.

The review also included 31 epidemiological studies (cohort, case-control, cross-sectional) that investigated exposure to radar, which uses radiofrequency ( RF) fields above 6 GHz (gigahertz) similar to 5 G.

Epidemiological studies on radar were included as they represent occupational exposure.

The epidemiological studies showed little evidence of health effects including cancer at different sites, effects on reproduction, and other diseases.

The review of experimental studies provided no confirmed evidence that low-level MMWs (60GHz and above) are associated with biological effects relevant to human health.

Many of the effects reported may have been related to heating from high RF energy deposition so the assertion of a ‘low-level’ effect is questionable in many of the studies.

Future studies into the low-level effects of MMWs should improve the experimental design with particular attention to dosimetry and temperature control.

The results from epidemiological studies presented little evidence of an association between low-level MMWs and any adverse health effects.

Therefore more future epidemiological research is needed to specifically investigate the impact of 5 G and future telecommunication technologies.

In the study published in the Nigeria Journal of Technology in 2021, MATLAB, and Simulink were used to analyze the absorption and penetration level of 5G electromagnetic energy patterns into biological tissue Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA).

The result thus “Our research result revealed that the energy produced by 5G radiation at the non-ionizing region of the electromagnetic spectrum is small and cannot break into the chemical bonds of biological tissue Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) or cause changes to cells that will result in either cancer or viral disease”

Secure communication is the key concern in the 5G network.

The Health Concerns Over 5G Network

Some experts voice concerns. In 2017, doctors and scientists launched a petition to stop the 5G rollout in the EU, citing cancer risks. One worry is that since 5G is so new, there hasn’t been time to properly test whether it’s safe.

There’s also a lack of scientific analyses on the potential impacts of densely concentrated areas of 5G in populated cities or on chronic 5G exposure, some experts say.

5G’s potential impact on more people also means more diversity and certain genes play a role in radiation sensitivity, experts say.

One 2021 study, for example, notes genetic effects of EMF depend on factors such as frequency, intensity, cell type, and exposure duration, and the types of gene expression affected “are consistent with findings that EMF causes genetic damages.

In addition, many of the government-approved rules on RF were established in the late 1990s and based on limited research. Scientists now don’t think the issue is so clear, and some aren’t staying quiet.

To date, more than 3,500 physicians across preventive and environmental medicine, toxicology, and other specialties have united against 5G, citing the main associated risks of nonionizing radiation—according to peer-reviewed scientific literature—including cancer, cellular stress, genetic damage, reproductive changes and deficits and neurological disorders.

Action must be taken now to reduce human exposure to nonionizing radiation to as low as can be achievable, including a moratorium on the introduction of 5G,” says Anthony B. Miller, M.D., professor emeritus at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health of the University of Toronto, in a 2020 statement from the Physicians Health Initiative for Radiation and Environment and the British Society for Ecological Medicine.

The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) also notes that in the 1990s, some research found a possible link between EMF field strength and an increased risk of childhood leukemia, but the association was weak.

Now, though, the organization notes, “in the age of cellular telephones, wireless routers, and the Internet of things, all of which use EMF, concerns persist about possible connections between EMF and adverse health effects.

NIEHS acknowledges additional research is needed and recommends continued education on practical ways to reduce exposures to EMFs.”

And as more is learned about 5G, more peer-reviewed studies and data published in various medical journals point to the possible negative effects it may pose to health.

5G Fact vs. Fiction

The World Health Organization (WHO) and FDA declare 5G safe. And, according to Collins, “all wireless communications use nonionizing electromagnetic radiation to transmit energy and information through space without the need for wires.”

For 5G, he says, “the electromagnetic waves have a higher frequency, which allows it to carry more information. It also has a smaller wavelength and does not penetrate the body as far as lower-frequency energy.”

Not all experts agree with those conclusions. Whether or not 5G could negatively impact your brain is something researchers are still studying, and will likely monitor for some time.

Does FDA have any authority to regulate cell tower radiation?

Answer

I quote

Fact

The FDA has no authority in regard to cell tower radiation and 5G infrastructure. This was confirmed in a January 11, 2022 letter by Ellen Flannery, the Director of the FDA Office of Policy Center for Devices and Radiological Health, who wrote that the FDA doesn’t regulate cell towers.

When asked about the safety of a cell tower outside a California mother’s window, she responded, “The FDA does not regulate cell towers or cell tower radiation.  Therefore, the FDA has no studies or information on cell towers to provide in response to your questions.”

While the public might assume the FDA is always monitoring the science and monitoring exposures, this is inaccurate.

For example, the 2021 FDA’s Annual report was released on January 31, 2022, and there is no mention of the issue of cell phones or cell towers, or wireless electromagnetic radiation. “The FDA has not shown any evidence of monitoring research with new agency reports, meetings or budget on the issue”

Belief: Does 5G network Cause COVID-19?

Verdict: Fiction

Claims state 5G weakens the immune system, making it easier to contract COVID-19, or that it directly causes the virus. Simply put, the research emphasizes that the belief that 5G causes or can spread COVID-19 isn’t true.

Belief: Is the 5G network Dangerous for Airplanes?

Verdict: Fact

Recently, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) warned that 5G interference could affect altitude readings on some jets, including interfering with altimeters, which measure how far above the ground a plane is flying.

In 2020, the nonprofit Radio Technical Commission for Aeronautics published research detailing how this interference could, in worst-case scenarios, lead to dangerous malfunctions.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has since established buffer zones around many airports to limit 5G activity.

Belief: Does 5G Network Create a Cybersecurity Risk?

Verdict: It’s complicated.

The introduction of 5G has created some cybersecurity risks, notes the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. One fear is malicious software and hardware being introduced into the 5G supply chain.

In addition, the 5G network uses more information than previous technologies, which leaves more room for error. Because of these concerns, the department has developed a set of strategic standards designed to mitigate risk.

Protection

How do you protect yourself from the potentially harmful effect of a 5G network?

Here are the best strategies the Environmental Work Group Washington DC research had recommended for everyone to protect themselves and their family from radiofrequency radiation exposure or smartphones, including the 5G network.

It is important to understand that young children’s brains absorb twice as much cellphone radiation as those of adults.

Seven Strategies to Protect Yourself from Smartphones, 5G Network, and other smart device Radiation:

Step 1

Buy anti-radiation device stickers and attach them to smartphones, laptops, and other wireless devices that use a 5G network.

For example

Step 2

Don’t place your smartphone on your ear while answering calls, rather make and answer your calls on the loudspeaker if you’re not with an earpiece either wired or wireless headphones (ear pod).

Some wireless headsets emit continuous, low-level radiation, so take yours off your ear when you’re not on a call. Using your phone in speaker mode also reduces radiation to the head.

Step 3

Hold the phone away from your ear and your body when you are talking. If you are using a headset, don’t put the phone in your pocket or clip it to your belt—put it in your bag, purse, or on a nearby surface. The amount of radiation absorbed by your head and body decreases dramatically with even a small distance.

Step 4

Text more, talk less.

Phones emit less radiation when sending texts than during voice communications. Texting keeps radiation away from your head.

Step 5

Call when the signal is strong.

Fewer signal bars mean the phone must work harder to broadcast its signal to the cell tower. As much as possible, make and take calls when your phone has a strong signal. Research shows that radiation exposure increases dramatically when cellphone signals are weak.

Step 6

Limit children’s phone use.

Young children’s brains can absorb twice as much cellphone radiation as those of adults.

Step Seven

Skip the ‘radiation shield.

Radiation shields such as antenna caps and keypad covers reduce the connection quality and force the phone to transmit with greater energy, generating more radiation.
